This is the first draft of my session for Design Samvaad 4.0, GDG Noida, on 12 September 2026.
Most AI products still look like a chat box dropped onto an old UI. That is a wrapping problem, not a design problem. When the system can take multi-step actions, the interface has to change: goals instead of screens, trust instead of tooltips, and handoff instead of a dead-end error state.
What the room will leave with
Participants will leave with an Agent UX map they can apply to their own product: what to show the user, when to ask for approval, and how to design handoff when the agent fails.
The 20-minute map
- Goal → plan → action → check → handoff — what the user actually needs to see.
- Control surfaces — approve, undo, interrupt, and “show your work.”
- Failure design — when the agent should stop, ask, or escalate to a human.
- Evaluation — how to judge agent UX beyond “the demo looked smart.”
I will use PathSetu (an AI mentor for first-generation students, built in Google Cloud Gen AI Academy APAC Cohort 3) and lending-product journeys as working examples. Short live walkthrough of one agent flow, then three patterns the room can reuse on Monday.
No coding required. Optional phone or laptop if you want to follow the demo.
Who this is for
UX and product designers, HMI folks, and PMs designing AI features — intermediate to senior. The session is a talk with a live walkthrough, not a Figma workshop.
